In connection with the information circulating on social networks about the privatization of O'zbekiston Pochtasi JSC, the participation of representatives of WB INT EXPORT in the supervisory board of the company, and the plans to attract financing, additional clarifications are being provided on a number of issues.
On the privatization of the state share
A 92.9 percent state share in the authorized capital of Uzbekistan Post JSC was transferred to the State Assets Management Agency.
Earlier, Wildberries and Uzum Market companies expressed interest in purchasing the state stake. However, the fact that existing investors expressed interest does not mean that the deal has been completed. At the time of the official statement, the documents on the privatization of the state stake had not been formalized.
Regarding the participation of Wildberries representatives in the supervisory board
The inclusion of representatives of WB INT EXPORT in the supervisory board is associated with the tasks of improving corporate governance, developing a strategy for the development of the postal operator, and increasing the efficiency of its activities.
At the same time, the participation of company representatives in the supervisory board should not be equated with their purchase of shares in the company. The state retains the status of a shareholder, while the executive body of the company has not changed.
Regarding the attraction of financial resources
Previously, a proposal to raise 100 billion soums of debt at the Central Bank's refinancing rate was considered. Since the final terms of financing were not agreed upon, a decision to raise this debt was not made.
At a press conference held on October 8, it was reported that preliminary agreements had been reached on another way of financing - opening a credit line of up to 360 billion soums without interest.
It is intended that the funds will be used as needed to finance the needs of the community. At the same time, the opening of a credit line does not mean that the entire amount will be automatically received. The final terms and conditions and subsequent implementation of the agreements should be considered in accordance with established corporate procedures.
On the transparency of decisions being made
Information on the state share, consideration of the issue of attracting debt funds, and decisions of the company's governing bodies was covered in official announcements and press conference materials.
The aim of the work being carried out is to ensure the financial stability of O'zbekiston Pochtasi JSC, modernize the postal infrastructure, and improve the quality of services provided to the population and business.
The State Assets Management Agency will continue to be open to a comprehensive discussion of issues related to the activities of the company and to inform the public about the decisions being made.
