ISSUES OF INVESTMENT COOPERATION AND PRIVATISATION WERE DISCUSSED WITH THE US AMBASSADOR

A meeting was held at the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henik.

The meeting discussed issues of further developing trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States, as well as expanding the participation of US business circles in privatization processes in Uzbekistan.

Director of the State Assets Management Agency, Sohibjon Murodov, noted that Uzbek-US relations have reached a new level in recent years and provided information about the opportunities created for foreign investors in the country, mechanisms for protecting investor rights, and the openness of privatization processes.

During the meeting, proposals were put forward to widely promote state assets planned for privatization in Uzbekistan to US business circles and potential investors, to increase the interest of foreign investors in these assets, and to attract US companies to investment projects.

In particular, it was proposed to organize an investment "Road Show" event aimed at targeted delivery of investment materials prepared on large and strategic state assets to leading US companies, industry associations, and industry groups, as well as presenting the new privatization program to US business circles.

In addition, issues of exchanging advanced international experience in the effective management of state-owned objects and improving privatization processes were discussed.

Following the meeting, it was agreed to continue cooperation to expand the participation of US business circles and investors in privatization processes in Uzbekistan, to form new investment projects, and to further develop investment cooperation between the two countries.
